“Jack” In a Box

2-wine-glass-with-bottle-gift-box-sydney-largeLike most others, are you too biased to boxed wine? Have you ever tried it?

Typically, wines are seen and popularly stored and consumed in bottles. It may be difficult to accept the “precious” wine in a wine box. Most wine lovers believe that boxed wine is not as good as bottled wine. However, beliefs are slowly changing. Thanks to their innumerable benefits, people are now putting good wines in wine boxes.

Here are the many benefits of boxed wine.

•    Boxed wine is kept in high-quality plastic bags in the box, which prevents the wine from getting spoilt.
You have the choice of using a little everyday with your dinner or in your “special” recipe without bothering about it getting spoilt for almost six to eight weeks. Conversely, a bottle of wine once opened must be consumed within a few days to enjoy its true taste.

•    Boxes are certainly more durable than glass bottles.

•    Boxed wine is mostly free form wastage. Bottled wines; when not consumed in a few days get spoilt, thus, causing wastage.

•    Boxed wines are easier to carry and handle when on-the-go.

It’s true that boxed wines cannot be preserved for years and aged. It is not the ideal choice for the wine cellar. Bottles are ideal for that.images (1)
However, for your daily wine with dinner, give boxed wine a chance, and enjoy its innumerable benefits.

“Cellared” Wines

2-wine-glass-with-bottle-gift-box-adelaide-600x840“Aged” wines are a wine lover’s delight. So is mine. I am an avid wine lover. At the time of my wedding, I wanted to store fine wine in a wine box to enjoy it with my spouse on our 25th anniversary. In a bid to do so, I set out to hunt for the finest wine, to be stored in the perfect conditions.

The Hunt for Wine

You will be surprised to know that all old wines do not taste great. For, all of them are not produced in a way to age. In fact, as wine is different from other alcohols like whiskey and others, it may often turn bad with storage. So, the first thing to understand is which wine tastes better when old, and which is meant to be drunk and enjoyed when young.

Most white wines are meant to be consumed when fresh. In fact, some of them turn bad when left open to be enjoyed later; even after 5-6 days.
Red wines are mostly the ones that taste better when aged. Red grapes are naturally high in phenols, anthocyanins and tannins. These ingredients prevent the wine from going bad.

However, these wines are often premium wines. So, be prepared to shell a few extra bucks to purchase them. I bought one of these to store.

Red wine has a fruity flavor. With time the wine undergoes a complex transformation, thus, resulting in a change of taste. The primary aroma of fresh fruits develops other complex secondary and tertiary aromas. So, if you like the fruity flavor, you can enjoy it after five years. If you relish the complex flavors and aromas, you can wait for 15, 20 or 25 years like I did.

Cellar it according to your taste and preference.

Safety for the “Fragile”

imagesWine glasses are fragile, expensive and “very very” precious. You certainly do not want them to break down; while on the move. If you are moving to a new place, you have to take extra care of your wine glasses to avoid breakage and damage. It’s not like your other things which can be stacked up into any box.

Here’s how you can ensure safety for your “precious” wine glasses.

•    Wine glass packaging is a perfect solution. You can buy specialty wine boxes to house the glasses properly. Usually, they are in the form of checks, designed to keep each glass intact in each square.

•     The stem is the most delicate part of the glass and is the most susceptible to breakage. Wrap it with a tissue paper for extra protection.

•    Pack up the empty spaces with paper to add weight and pack all empty spaces, which might cause the glasses to cling and break.

•    Label the boxes as “Fragile” to warn the movers about its additional safety while carrying. Boxes with “Fragile” written and often stacked images (1)carefully in the truck above all other things, so as to avoid damage.

•     Surround the empty spaces inside the box to prevent damage.

You would have spent significant effort and money for your wine glass collection.

So, move it carefully with appropriate packaging and you are bound to prevent nay sort of damage or breakage.

Gifts and More!

Who would not love to receive a wine box2-wine-glass-with-bottle-gift-box-sydney-large with a bottle of wine or wine glasses on a special occasion? I certainly would.

So, if you are wondering what to gift a dear friend on his first anniversary, make it special with a bottle of wine and wine glasses.

Remember that wine is like perfume; every person has his own specific, individual taste. Therefore, buying wine for a gift is different from buying any other gift.

Here are some wine buying tips that you can use.

  • Wine is popular and easily available. However, choose a wine store that houses a variety of wines, including vintages and others. You can thus, get a chance to choose one matching your needs.
  • Prices of wine vary drastically. While you might get a basic bottle for about $20, there are others priced at $100. So, establish a budget before visiting the store.
  • Read the label on the wine bottle. A label on the wine bottle provides important information about the wine producer, vintage or 1-wine-glass-gift-box-perthnon-vintage, types of grapes used, alcohol content and more. Although it may seem overwhelming, it provides important information about the kind of wine in the bottle. You can then choose the one matching the receiver’s taste and preference.
  • Do not be reluctant in asking questions. Wine stores often have well-informed salespeople to assist you in buying wine. Ask him for information and guidance to help you choose the wine.

So, choose the right wine and see your friend mesmerized with your gift.

Boxed Wine- Good or Bad!

2-wine-glass-with-bottle-gift-box-sydney-largeWe have always associated wines with glass bottles and corks, which need to be opened tactfully. What about wine boxes? Do boxed wines deliver or disappoint?

Boxed Wines

In the past, boxed wines were known to belong to a lower world, which tastes horrible. However, with the advent of better technology, boxed wines are no more of a lower grade or poorer quality. In fact, boxed wines provide innumerable benefits including environmental, quality and value. Who says premium wine cannot be boxed? It certainly can.

However, boxed wines usually have wines worth $20 and less, which is ideal for our daily drinking needs. If you couple a glass of wine with dinner every day, then boxed wine is certainly the best choice.

It boasts of good quality and provides a better value for money; not because of a poorer quality, but as a result of the manufacturer’s reduction in overheads like corks, screw tops, foils, glass and more. What’s more, bottling wine is a complex process! The materials are expensive and shipping cost is higher; thanks to the fragility. So, why not opt for boxed wine to fulfill your daily drinking needs?

Storing Boxed Wine

Can wine boxes be stored in way to keep up its key flavors? 2-wine-glass-with-bottle-carrier-melbourne-large

Yes, an opened red boxed wine can be stored for almost six weeks when refrigerated. Therefore, boxed wine has all the benefits of any other wine and has the additional benefit of better value for money.

So, if you were put off with the idea of wine in a plastic bag, it’s time to shun that idea now. Don’t other packaged foods come in plastic too?

Creatively Designed Gift Boxes

In this day and age, innovation continues to bring new and fresh ideas to many different kinds of things. If you look around you will find many ordinary items that have all been designed in a new and creative way to not just look different, but also to offer a different functionality to the item as well. Items as diverse as a water bottle and even the mouse of a computer have been designed in many different kinds of ways.

One of the unique items that can also be innovated includes the wine glass gift box. You might think that an ordinary box can surely not inspire much creativity; however, given the fact that there are a diverse number of glasses that are available for drinking wine, along with the fact that wine tasting itself is such a serious hobby for some people, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Glasses come in different shapes and sizes, and with or without a stem because all of these factors can change the taste of the wine. Wine itself is very temperamental, and because of this, there are many people who claim that even the slightest change in the structure in the glass can completely change the taste of the wine.

Essential to the tasting of wine is the temperature of the wine; many people say that because a stemless glass requires the person to touch the glass with their hands, it affects the temperature of the wine, thus causing the taste itself to change. Some people also claim that a glass which has a larger bowl can facilitate the taste by accentuating the scent of the wine. This is why there are so many different kinds of gift boxes that are available for wine glasses.

There are boxes that are also made from many different kinds of materials, such as cardboard and leather, thus giving a different look and feel to the box. There are also other kinds of designs, and some of them can also contain many different kinds of items, such as the accessories that are necessary for wine drinking such as a wine corkscrew, a wine stopper and also a wine bottle collar. Some of these gift boxes also come with space created for a bottle of wine, and there are some boxes which are made for many glasses.

If you are looking for such innovatively designed wine glass gift boxes, you should use the products which are made by WineBox. You can browse through the wide range that is available on www.winebox.net.au.

Gifting Wine Glasses in a Gift Box

Just like the wide varieties of wines that you can drink, there are also many different kinds of wine glasses that you can choose from. The serious wine taster will always have an opinion on what constitutes the perfect wine glass. Is it the glass which has a wide bowl? Is it the glass which has a stem? There are a few arguments claimed by the sommeliers, and they are detailed below.

  1. Sommeliers say that wine tasting doesn’t just mean tasting the liquid itself, but that it actually invokes all of the senses. In addition to the appearance and taste of the wine itself, the wine also needs to have a good smell. The best way to enhance the smell of the wine is by having a glass with a big bowl. When you stir it the air that goes into the glass releases the smell and enhances it.
  2. A certain temperature is required to taste wine. Sommeliers say that a glass which has a stem actually helps to keep the temperature at an even keel, whereas glasses which are stemless require the taster to touch the glass with their own hands, thus altering the temperature of the wine and changing the taste.

So the next time you are giving a wine bottle as a present to someone, be sure to think of including an appropriate wine glass as well. There are many stores, both online and department stores where you will be able to find both a wine box and a wine glass gift box. A box doesn’t just heighten the surprise element of receiving the present; it can make the present appear more attractive. In many cases the box itself can contain a few surprises of its own, e.g. a wine bottle in a box that also includes the various accessories for drinking wine, such as the wine opener, stopper and pourer.

If you are looking for such top quality wine boxes, be sure to contact Wine Box. They have a wide range of products and you will find a product which is suitable for your needs. To know more and browse through their range of products, visit www.winebox.net.au.
